Dr. Morgan Stefik joins polymer effort at USC
Dr. Morgan Stefik has joined the polymer nanotechnology effort as an assistant professor of chemistry and biochemistry at the University of South Carolina. Professor Stefik will start in August 2013 and occupy new laboratories in the Horizon I building. He is currently working with Professor Michael Grätzel at Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne in Switzerland where his focus is on thin film nanocomposites for photoelectrochemical water splitting. Prior to his current position, he performed doctoral studies at Cornell University working with Professors U. Wiesner and F. DiSalvo on functional and ordered nanocomposites derived from the self-assembly of block copolymers. These types of new materials will find applications in fuel cells, batteries, and solar fuels. At South Carolina, he will establish a teaching and research program in polymer nanomaterials for a broad range of energy applications. Welcome Professor Stefik!
